Heavy-gauge vapor barriers, sealed foundation vents, and a dedicated sump discharge line so your Macedon, NY crawl space stops feeding moisture into the floor joists above it.
Macedon, NY crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.
Every crew member is trained specifically on liner installation, seam sealing, and vent encapsulation, not general basement work.
Our technicians carry encapsulation materials on the truck for most standard-size crawl spaces, cutting down on return visits.
Pricing is based on your crawl space's actual square footage and condition, quoted in writing before liner installation begins.
We measure relative humidity before and after installation to confirm the space is actually staying below the threshold where mold and wood rot take hold.
Every Macedon, NY Crawl Space Encapsulation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
Extraction equipment includes submersible pumps sized for tight crawl space access points.
Liner thickness is selected based on foot traffic and how the space will be used going forward, not a flat default.
Open foundation vents pull in humid outside air, which is often the real driver of Macedon, NY crawl space condensation — we seal them as part of encapsulation.
A crawl space needs its own sump basin and discharge line separate from any basement system, since the two spaces drain differently.
We also check subfloor insulation for water damage and replace anything compromised before closing the liner.
We ask about standing water, musty odor, and vent condition to gauge scope before scheduling the inspection.
A technician physically enters the space to check for standing water, existing liner condition, vent count, and duct exposure.
You'll see square footage, liner grade, vent sealing, and dehumidifier specs broken out in the written estimate.
We re-test humidity after installation to confirm the space is holding at a healthy level before we consider the job done.
"Found out our old vapor barrier had huge gaps at every seam. They redid it properly and sealed the vents too."
— Macedon Homeowner
"Sump discharge from the old system was dumping water right back next to the foundation. They rerouted it and the crawl space finally dried out."
— Macedon Customer
"They caught duct condensation we didn't even know was happening down there. Sealed everything up during the same visit."
— Macedon Homeowner
"Musty smell in our upstairs hallway is completely gone now that the crawl space is sealed."
— Macedon Customer
A vapor barrier is just the liner on the ground; full encapsulation seals vents, walls, and often adds a dehumidifier for complete moisture control.
We'll recommend a thickness based on how the space is actually used, not just a default.
In most Macedon, NY climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.
Often yes, if the crawl space is the source — sealing and dehumidifying typically resolves musty odors within a few days of installation.
Standing water doesn't disqualify a space from encapsulation; it's just the first step in the process.
Spaces with extensive prior water damage or debris may take longer — we'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
